- Heart disease secondary to systemic disease (hypo -or hyperthyroidism)
- Hypertrophic or restrictive cardiomypathy in cats
- Myocarditis
- Arrhythmias
- Cardiac neoplasia and its sequellae (pericardial effusion)
- Congenital heart disease
- Cardiomyopathies
- Complex congenital defects
- Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA)
- Pulmonic stenosis
- Subaortic stenosis (SAS)
- Tetralogy of Fallot and reverse PDA
- Tricupsid and mitral valve dysplasia
- Heart disease requiring treatment by pacemaker or catheter based interventions (PDA closures, balloon valvuloplasties) can be performed by the cardiologists at a different facility

- Breed—specific disease: Auscultation of litters or young adult pure bred dogs for detection of congenital heart disease (OFA)
- Cancer patients: Echocardiogram to monitor possible side effects of chemotherapy
